Ergonomics
Many musculoskeletal problems are caused by poor posture, incorrect movement patterns and repetitive tasks. This is particularly common with people who are required to sit at desks and computers for long hours.
Many of those injuries are preventable. Performing repetitive tasks in unnatural positions can put strain on our muscles, joints, and tendons, but practicing good work habits and applying ergonomics at work can go a long way in offsetting injuries.
Employers with more than 5 staff are required by law to undertake regular risk assessment of all employees who use display screen equipment (DSE) for more than one hour at a time in their working day. We offer functional workstation assessments and our aim is to help prevent the most common work related injuries before they occur, these include:
- Back & Neck Pain
- Work Related Upper Limb Disorders (WRULD)
- Headaches
- Muscular tension
Our workplace assessment considers the employee’s situation, ergonomic setup of the job and work organisation to provide practical recommendations to facilitate the employee continue in or return to work safely and with a reduced risk of aggravating any symptoms.
